The critical role of partnerships and international collaboration to the UK MOD’s space strategy

13 Sep 2023
Space Hub Forum
Agile Acquisition & Rapid Delivery

The UK National Space and Defence Space Strategies demonstrate commitment to developing the UK as a space nation. The MOD Defence Space Strategy has a range of cross-cutting principles that include broadening and deepening multinational cooperation, improving cross-Government collaboration, driving innovation and making use of technical opportunities to achieve a vision that incorporates a blend of resilient Own | Collaborate | Access solutions.

This panel will explore MOD’s intent on establishing a balanced Defence Space Portfolio, looking across UK-based industrial capabilities as well as those of allies & commercial partners. The panel will share key areas where partnerships & acquisitions can accelerate innovation for defence in order to deliver synergies, dual use and value for money for the UK taxpayer and those of our allies. The panel will also explore barriers to execution. For example, how we can put non-UK companies on the map of relevancy and how international businesses are path-finders in helping navigate this.
