Joint ZoneDSEI 2017 saw an enhanced Joint Zone with a plethora of products from exhibitors within the following sectors: C4ISTAR, Communications, DIO, Electronic Warfare, Joint Enablers, Logistics, Medical, Robotics & Telemedicine.

Following the huge success of 2015's Medical Innovation Zone the area was expanded to include more companies along with an award winning demonstration area which once again was organised with a team from Defence Medical Services (DMS) Medical Directorate.

Award Winning Area

Exhibition News AwardIn 2015 the Medical Innovation Demonstration was designed to showcase the innovative techniques and capabilities used to rescue and treat injured servicemen in recent conflict zones, as well as DMS’s leading work on the UK’s response to the Ebola epidemic in Sierra Leone. It featured active military medics and high-tech medical kit currently being used by the military, much of which has been designed by DSEI exhibitors.

This area of DSEI was recognised at the 2016 Exhibition News Awards where it won in the prestigious 'Best Feature Area' category.

DSEI Strategic Conference

DSEI 2017 hostedan expanded medical conference programme, Trauma Innovation & Military Medicine (TIMM), encompassing 3 streams, led by the UK Surgeon General and DMS.

In 2015, the DSEI Strategic Conferences hosted Trauma Innovation, delivered in partnership with the UK MOD Defence Medical Services (DMS). The conference looked at how lessons learnt from recent military campaigns can be translated into the wider healthcare community and those active areas of research where defence medicine continues to develop its clinical capability.

Joint : Warfare in the Information Age & Joint Environment

Warfare in the Joint space is undergoing necessary and rapid transformation in response to the changing strategic environment. The modern forces structure of joint enablers has brought about a new approach to hybrid warfare and operational optimisation, altering the way in which information and intelligence is exploited to enable a more efficient and capable force. The Joint Seminar will look at how this dynamic environment is continuing to evolve at pace.
