2017 AIR STATIC DISPLAY

As the complexity of recent geopolitical events around the
world Helicopterincreases, governments have become increasingly reliant on air power for conflict resolution and humanitarian assistance. DSEI 2017 showcased this via a striking display of over ten impressive aircraft positioned in the middle of the air zone. This included two fighter jets, SAAB Gripen and Tornado GR4, an array of military helicopters including: Chinook, Apache, Wildcat, Merlin, additional rotorcraft from Leonardo, and several UAVs were showcased throughout the event.

The Disposal Services Authority’s

The Tornado GR4 is a variable geometry, two-seat, day or night, all-weather attack aircraft capable of having a wide range of weapons integrated onto the platform. The RAF is bringing the fleet out of service in March 2019, along with the entire spares and associated training inventory. More information is available from the Defence Equipment Sales Authority on stand N10-150, a UK MOD organisation that provides proven military equipment as a cost effective alternative to new equipment.

MBDA Systems

MBDA are enhancing the highly acclaimed Brimstone missile (98.7% effectiveness achieved during in-theatre operations) to specifically meet Attack Helicopter, Typhoon and Protector requirements by providing the operator with the ability to reliably and simply engage, in both direct and indirect fire modes, a wide range of target types with its multi-effect warhead. The Brimstone will be available to view on the East terrace at the rotary craft display.
