Steven Barnes joined BAE Systems Air Sector back in 2002 as an advanced modern apprentice.  He has worked in a number of Structural Engineering roles at the company focusing on structural analysis and qualification of a range of fast jet platforms including Tornado and Typhoon.

In 2015, he started in the BAE Systems New Product & Process Development Centre working on additive manufacturing.  Since 2021 he has been the Additive Manufacturing Process & Capability Lead responsible for the production readiness and future development of the BAE in-house AM facility, focusing on a range of metallic and polymer AM technologies.
