Lieutenant Colonel Simon Horne OBE
Lt Col Simon Horne is a British Army Consultant in Emergency Medicine, based in Plymouth. He joined the Army while at medical school at Oxford. After deploying to Northern Ireland in 1998 he was then lucky enough to go on an expedition to Antarctica (2001-2) before training in Emergency Medicine. Subsequently he has deployed operationally to Kuwait, Afghanistan, Pakistan, South Sudan and Sierra Leone. He is currently head of the Centre for Defence Healthcare Engagement and Army Consultant Advisor for Emergency Medicine. He was awarded an OBE for work during COVID19. When made to put his bass guitar down, his free time mostly entails a PhD into medical civil-military relationships, at King’s College London.
