Rob leads a worldwide engineering team at Microsoft focused on co-innovation & co-engineering with Government & Defence customers. His team specialises on early phase technology adoption including AI and the Industrial Metaverse. Rob joined Microsoft in 2011 as UK CTO for Cloud Computing. Prior to Microsoft, Rob was a founder of RiskMetrics Group, a highly successful Financial Services technology firm specialising in high performance SaaS applications for financial risk and was a founding member of the Microsoft Customer Advisory Board on Cloud Computing. Rob has a PhD in the application of Artificial Intelligence to Command and Control, is a Fellow of the Institute for Engineering and Technology and Fellow of the Institute for Innovation.
