Rebecca has a background in geology and space, and joined Dstl in 2019 after a short career in university and high school libraries and laboratories. Passionate about outreach and skills development, I set up the Space Group’s outreach initiative not long after joining, which engages schools nationwide in activities, careers fairs and talks. In 2021 I became a team leader, allowing me to focus more of my energy into people development. I continue to lead improvements of the Space Group’s Skills Framework, sharing the methodology to other areas around Dstl and MOD, and finding ways to utilise the information for resource and capability planning for 70 technical staff within the Group. Dstl Space Group is the centre for science and technology support to UK Defence and Security in space.
