An ex-RAF Communications Engineer,  Prof Patrick is the current Head of Science at the RAF Rapid Capabilities Office (RCO) leading the Air Information Experimentation Division, Airborne Experimentation Unit and Air intelligent Machines Division.  He is also the Senior Principal Technical Consultant for C4ISR at the MOD Defence Science and Technology Labs (DSTL).  Patrick has held a series of roles with the UN, the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the MOD.
