Mike is a visionary leader with broad market insight. He has experience of a diverse set of global industry sectors including Financial Services, Retail, Manufacturing, Central Government and Defence. Mike’s technical background is in Information Technology, with a heavy bias towards software development, data analytics, AI and Cloud computing technologies. Beyond the technical domain, Mike also has a wealth of experience in the area of change management and customer engagement.

Mike is Chief Technology & Operating Officer for QinetiQ and also a QinetiQ Fellow. In this role, Mike leads a global function focussed around inspiring and enabling people to leverage science, technology and engineering for operational advantage. This is achieved through co-creating with customers, developing QinetiQ’s wider eco-system of partners and applying QinetiQ’s own investment to create cutting-edge disruptive products and services for customers.  In addition Mike leads the operational excellence part of the QinetiQ business, leading on standards and capability in the areas of innovation, programme management and safety excellence.

Mike joined QinetiQ from Fujitsu where he was a Fujitsu Fellow and CTO. During this time Mike created and led Fujitsu Digital (a 700 strong division across EMEIA focussed on the incubation of innovative products and services as well as Fujitsu’s Consulting group) and prior to that has a strong background in transformational delivery where he has led some of the most complex and largest systems integration programmes within Fujitsu.
