Group Captain Leonie Boyd
A chartered engineer, Leonie joined the Royal Air Force as an Aerospace Engineering Officer in 2001 and has served in a number of engineering appointments during her career, including on C-130 Hercules and Tristar Squadrons, roles in the Typhoon Delivery Team within Defence Equipment and Support, continuing airworthiness management and at Headquarters Air Command. In August 2022, Leonie arrived in her current role, with responsibility for engineering and logistics in-service support across a broad portfolio of commodity airfield, aircraft and aircrew equipment and weapons, and engineering and logistics capability strategy and development, which includes innovative technology such as additive manufacturing, alongside sustainability, net zero and agile combat employment. Leonie is also the MoD co-chair for the certification working group in support of the UK Strategic Command additive manufacturing accelerator programme.
