John Farrow is the 2* Director of the Logistics and Support Operating Centre (LSOC), Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S). LSOC runs the procurement, storage and distribution of significant parts across Defence and key DE&S interface with the Defence Support organisation, Joint Forces Command. LSOC provides a range of essential enabling services across DE&S operating centres through to the Front-Line Commands. He is functional lead, logistics & support activity and DE&S Champion for PRIDE Network. Previously he worked as 1* lead in Ships Support, responsible for a portfolio including: Project RENOWN, a joint Navy & DE&S Ships Availability improvement endeavour; the £5.2Bn Future Maritime Support Programme (FMSP), the largest successful Support programme ever attempted by MoD; the successor programme to FMSP, the Naval Support Integrated Global Network (NSIGN); and the Future In-Service Support (FISS) team, developing innovative contracting for our Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs). During Covid, he joined the NHS PPE procurement activity supporting the purchase of c£15Bn of PPE for front-line Health services within c100 days. He also was Head of Integrated Logistics (ILOG) in Air Domain and ILOG Function Manager for Air. John’s early career was in Jaguar Cars and Peugeot Citroen group,  sales and marketing, commercial, business management and franchising. John spent 6 years in Aerospace & Defence leading a first-tier supplier to Original Equipment Manufacturers, being a customer to multiple supply chains across Europe, Singapore, China and America. In 2012 he joined DE&S as a consultant and became a full-time Senior Civil Servant in April 2016.
