Iain Pope is the founder and Chairman of Global RadioData Communications Limited (GRC), which was established in 1996.
GRC Ltd is a leading SME defence company headquartered in the UK and offices in Europe. GRC Ltd specialises in telecommunications networks for governments and defence forces and has strategic partnerships with major space and telecoms companies such as, SES, Avanti, Viasat, SpaceX, OneWeb and Amazon Kuiper.
Previously to setting up GRC, Iain served in the British Army, Royal Signals, as a communications operator serving in Germany, Norway and the Gulf. On leaving the British Army he joined the UK Civil Service (UK MoD), as a specialist communications engineer.
On leaving the Civil service Iain joined industry and has been working within the defence sector for the past 30 years.
During his time in industry Iain has worked with large corporations such as Nortel Networks, Lucent Technologies, Harris, Thales and Airbus Defence & Space.
Iain has been fundamental in the growth of GRC, from a start up to a +£40-million-pound business, operating across Europe.
