Mr Richard Hamer
Richard is responsible for BAE Systems global Education & Skills strategy and for the pipeline of future talent through its education activities with schools and development of apprenticeship programmes. BAE Systems is one of the largest employers of apprentices in the UK with c2000 apprentices in learning. He chaired the Aerospace and Airworthiness Trailblazer group, leading or supporting the development of over 20 Apprenticeship Standards. He took a leadership role in developing the company’s commitment to Movement to Work, providing a pipeline for young unemployed people into apprenticeships, and support now for Kickstart.
Before joining BAE Systems in 2004, Richard was Head of Education at BT in its Corporate Responsibility team and ran its Millennium education programme.
