Gp Captain Gordon Bettington

Deputy Commandant RAF College Cranwell, Royal Air Force
Born in Doncaster in September 1973, Group Captain Gordon Bettington graduated from Loughborough University with a First Class Honours in Industrial Design and Technology.  After joining the Royal Air Force as an Administrative Officer in 1995, his early tours included the Joint Air Reconnaissance Intelligence Centre, Officer Commanding AFCO (RAF) Belfast, the Inspectorate of Recruiting and RAF Leeming as the Officer Commanding Personnel Services Flight.

Promoted to Squadron Leader in 2003, he deployed to the Falkland Islands as Officer Commanding Personnel Support Squadron, before taking the same role at RAF Wittering, followed by a tour as a career manager at RAF Innsworth followed. Further staff tours were complimented by a 6 month operational tour in Kabul, before he assumed command of the Officer and Aircrew Training Unit at RAF College Cranwell.  On promotion to Group Captain in 2015 he completed 3 years as Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff Community Support at RAF High Wycombe before assuming his current post as Deputy Commandant of the Royal Air Force College Cranwell.
