Gavin Rudgley trained as a naval architect with the Royal Corps of Naval Constructors in 1987.  Within the MOD, he was directly involved in landing craft, special forces boats, HMS SCOTT, Survey Vessel and Landing Ship Dock Auxiliary projects.  He was seconded to BMT for two years working on ship safety and bidding for special forces boats.  Back in the MOD, he led the MARS Fleet Tanker engineering team and then established the Naval Authority Group.
In 2013, Gavin joined BAE Systems Naval Ships as head of engineering governance, then led the engineering team bidding Type 26 into Canada and Australia.  Following export success, Gavin became Chief Engineer for Type 31 bid.  He is now the Chief Engineer for Future Business and Technology charged with developing technology, designs and engineering delivery solutions for future RN and export opportunities.
