Fred Thomas is the Labour Member of Parliament for Plymouth Moor View. Before entering Parliament in 2024, Fred served as a Royal Marines Officer (2016-23). Fred served in several joint environments, working in Nuclear Security, Counter-Terrorism, Arctic Warfare, and on operations overseas. As well as joining the Defence Committee, Fred has established the Defence Technology All Party Parliamentary Group, working cross-party to advance dialogue between industry and Westminster. Fred speaks Arabic, having studied as part of his BA and lived in Cairo working as a journalist before joining the military. While Fred left the regular service in 2023 and ran for Parliament, he remains an active Royal Marines Commando Reservist.
