Debbie Brown is People Director for Serco, a British-owned, but global organisation employing more than 50,000 people across 20 countries. A trusted partner for governments worldwide, Serco delivers vital public services that make a positive impact and address some of today’s most urgent and complex challenges. Our operations in the UK span justice, immigration, defence, healthcare, citizen services, transport, and community services.

Debbie leads on the People Strategy for Serco Defence a 3,000 strong workforce embedded in MOD businesses like Maritime Services, RAF Brize Norton, the Defence Academy, and the Armed Forces Tri-Service Recruitment contract. Debbie is proud to be part of Defence during a period of significant people investment and is devoted to providing meaningful work and opportunities with a ‘no barriers to entry’ approach, acknowledging that individuals have different access to resources, opportunities and capital based on their personal circumstances.

Debbie’s wealth of experience has been gained in various sectors including hospitality, retail, and event management, working with brands and venues such as Costa Coffee, Whitbread, Shell Oil, Wimbledon, Twickenham Stadium, The O2 Arena and many other iconic venues. 

Debbie has led and partnered teams to deliver the people proposition for up to a 30,000 plus workforce. Debbie has been instrumental in the delivery of large transformation and change projects and is keen to share best practice from other industries in her current role.

Debbie is from Liverpool, and volunteers in her local community in support of children who may not have had the best start in life.
