Captain Ben Perkins-Brown
With a career primarily employed within the Type and Continuing Airworthiness domain working on over 10 aircraft Types from Wildcat Helicopters, Historic Flight and recent employment as Commander Air Engineering at RNAS Yeovilton (2018-2020) and Chief Engineer and TAA for the PUMA ‘Family of Systems’ and Desert Hawk 3 RPAS in support of STRATCOM (2020-2022), Captain Ben is a Sponsorship Graduate of the original RN Engineering Sponsorship Scheme at Southampton University and Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
He is currently the Defence Engineering Champion Team Leader, working for the pan Defence and Government 3* Head of Profession for Engineering, influencing the direction of travel for the engineering domain across both the Military and Civil Service and is passionate about the articulation of skills, skills mapping and future skills based exploitation alongside efficient STEM outreach activities to grow the skill base of the future.
