Gp Capt Andy Ross joined the Royal Air Force in 1998. Following pilot training he flew the C130K Hercules at RAF Lyneham. In 2007 Ross was posted to the Air Warfare Centre where he was responsible for the development of operational tactics employed by RAF multi-engine aircraft. In 2009 Ross converted to the Sentry E-3D before assuming Flight Commander and Executive Officer duties on 8 Squadron. A tour at HQ AIR as a Career Manager followed before promotion to wg cdr and an assignment to HQ 16 Air Assault Brigade as SO1 Air. He returned to RAF Waddington in 2014 to assume command of 54 Squadron where he was responsible for aircrew operational conversion training on all ISTAR platforms and the training of UK and International students at the ISR Warfare School. Ross then commanded the Officer and Aircrew Selection Centre at RAFC Cranwell where he was responsible for selecting officers and aircrew for service in the Royal Air Force. He returned to RAF Waddington in 2019 as the Chief of Staff at the ISTAR Force HQ. In January 2021, Gp Capt Ross took up his current post as Director of the Joint Electronic Warfare Operational Support Centre (JEWOSC).
