Lt Col Beard was a former Visiting Fellow at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), focussing on the role of climate change on Defence and the increased need for long term sustainability within the military. This included a number of commentaries available on the RUSI website and the Greening Defence podcast series with Dr Sarah Ashbridge.
