After a decade in the army (Blues and Royals) riding tanks and horses from Helmand to Horse Guards, Alex left to chase a career in comms. At the Royal British Legion, the UK’s largest Armed Forces charity, he was heavily involved in the Poppy Appeal, thinking up new ways to mobilise the public in support of veterans. This included Tribute Ink, an experiential campaign exploring modern remembrance through tattoos. Then at Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S), Alex and his team created new ways to land a once-in-a-generation change for UK Defence – an experience he is now applying to help establish the new National Armaments Director Group. Outside work Alex bagged a History Masters specialising in Medieval Cavalry, which he puts to use as a director for the Household Cavalry Museum in London.
