The chosen supplier will be expected to support multiple military training schools at MoD Lyneham.
The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) has launched a new GBP170 million competition – 'Lyneham Technical Training Project (LTTP)-UK4' – aimed at delivering comprehensive engineering and technical training at MoD Lyneham.
The competition, published on 10 November, seeks a supplier to support several military training schools at MoD Lyneham, including the Defence School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, No.4 School of Technical Training, 8th Battalion and Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Arms School, Defence School of Aeronautical Engineering, and School of Army Aeronautical Engineering.
Spanning an initial four-year period, the contract, which is extendable by up to two additional years, requires the chosen supplier to provide a broad range of services, including business management; legal, regulatory and safety compliance related to training; support to learning; learning design and planning; delivery and governance; equipment support, and international defence and wider markets training.
A contract award is expected in August 2026 after an invitation to tender is launched in February 2026.
This initiative aligns with the MoD’s broader efforts to centralise and modernise technical training operations at MoD Lyneham, which included building the Defence College of Technical Training.
This expansive training contract reflects the MoD’s commitment to upgrading technical skills and support within the UK Armed Forces, ensuring soldiers and engineers receive contemporary, high-quality instruction and equipment support essential to operational readiness and capability development.
