The competition will focus on making T&E capabilities more mobile and efficient.
The UK’s Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA) has unveiled a new themed competition under its ongoing Test and Evaluation (T&E) Transformation Programme, an 11 November DASA announcement has revealed.
Valued at GBP1 million, the theme of the competition is “Delivering Future Advantage Through Testing and Evaluation” and seeks proposals for innovative and novel T&E capabilities and regulatory solutions, DASA said.
The competition is comprised of two challenges, with the first focused on the development of a deployable and mobile T&E capability.
Traditional T&E facilities require military platforms to be withdrawn from operations which reduces availability and delivery, DASA said, so deployable solutions are sought that allow testing in “austere regions, operational theatres, or during exercises”.
“Solutions could allow real-time performance data collection whilst platforms remain deployed, increasing operational sustainability. Multi-domain applications are prioritised”, DASA added.
The second challenge centres on increasing the efficiency of T&E capabilities, as current approaches can struggle to match the pace of technology or capability development.
The deadline for submitting proposals for this competition is 20 January 2026, while a Q&A webinar will take place on 19 November 2025 to discuss the competition requirements. A series of shorter one-to-one webinar sessions will also take place on Tuesday 2 December.
This competition will be financed from the T&E Transformation Fund, launched as part of the wider T&E Transformation Programme. This fund has GBP32 million ringfenced through to 2030 to improve T&E.
DASA is planning to release more competitions using this fund over time, with competitions separated into Ministry of Defence-led and frontline command-led projects.
Other initiatives under the T&E Transformation Programme include the establishment of a T&E Marketplace slated for launch by the end of 2026. The purpose of the marketplace is to act as a single portal or online “one stop shop”, allowing users to find, assess, and access T&E facilities and support services, many of which are provided by small firms.
