The challenge is the first under a new set of industry calls to support Ukraine.
The Swedish Defence Materiel Organisation (FMV) launched a new anti-aircraft countermeasure competition on 8 May.
It comes under what is expected to become a broader set of challenges, designed to support Ukraine through a series of military innovation calls.
For this current challenge, the FMV is seeking solutions which can be developed and ready for production within 12 months.
“The goal is to identify civilian-driven technical solutions that, with some adaptations, could strengthen Ukraine's overall defence”, the notice states.
In particular, the organisation is looking for anti-aircraft combat subsystems and complete systems capable of neutralising aircraft.
Up to SEK20 million (USD2 million) is available for six companies to develop their innovations, with potential for them to be funded in Sweden’s future support packages to Ukraine.
Applications close on 2 June, with initial down-selection taking place on 24 June, with further stages and presentations to follow.
The FMV had not replied to DSEI’s request for comment on why this particular challenge was chosen first, or whether it is open to international companies, by the time of publication.
The theme of this challenge and future challenges are “based on needs identified by Ukraine”, according to the FMV.
