Medicine advances in war and it is critical to learn the lessons from the current Russo-Ukraine war to enhance collective medical preparedness for dealing with combat casualties at scale. This presentation, delivered by the UK Surgeon General and Chair of the Committee of Military Medical Chiefs in NATO, synthesises and analyses the lessons from both a national and international perspective into twelve themes—the Dirty Dozen lessons—with recommendations to enhance future medical resilience.
