10 Sep 2025
Naval Forum
In this session, Major General Peter Rowell MBE, Commandant of the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom, will explore how education and training are evolving to meet the demands of the future Integrated Force. With a particular focus on the Defence Academy, he will highlight education and training’s pivotal role in driving integration across the Armed Forces and operational domains, supporting NATO-level readiness, and contributing to national resilience through a whole-of-society approach. The talk will outline how the Defence Academy is supporting the wider defence enterprise to become better digitally-enabled, innovation-led, and deeply connected with industry. He will share ideas on how Professional Defence and Security Education (PDSE) can become more open to collaboration - welcoming more industry experts into the learning environment, offering opportunities for our learners to gain greater exposure to industry, and jointly developing and deploying new education technologies. This session is particularly relevant for those in industry seeking to understand how they can shape, support, and benefit from the future of Professional Defence and Security Education.
