The recently released Strategic Defence Review clearly reminds us that the security environment is unpredictable and that the world itself is beset by volatility and deep uncertainty. Similarly, as Global Strategic Trends: Out to 2055 sets out, over the next few decades the trends that will shape our future can be expected to be inherently contradictory in both time and place. In this context, and in expectation of such continual change and inconsistencies, the Breakfast Brief will explore the characteristics of the future operating environments that the UK military could face.
