Platinum Suite Level 3
People and Skills Day
The Naval Service is growing for the first time in 70 years to meet the challenges of the 21st century, and this is challenging many of the assumptions, policies and practices which were suitable for a shrinking Navy. Entry into the Service at higher ranks has always been possible in specialist areas, but transformational growth will require this to be used more widely. The session will examine the advantages and disadvantages of lateral entry, illustrated using examples of direct and accelerated entry schemes that are being employed by the Royal Navy as part of its overall growth strategy for engineers.
