Changes at ExCeL
ExCeL London is currently undergoing development on the east side of the building. Once completed will confirm its status as the largest event space in London. The extension to the current 65,000m2 space will increase the venue by more than 50% to 100,000m2. The new development will include a new auditorium, additional bars and restaurants, increased underground parking and a new link to the Prince Regent DLR station.
This stage of development began in August 2008 and will continue for the next two years until 2010.
During the development the east car park will be a construction site and the eastern entrance to ExCeL and nearby Prince Regent DLR station will be closed with no access to the venues.
Entrance changes for DSEi 2009
- The undercroft will be used in 2009 to provide additional access for attendees and to ensure smooth entry into the show. This is accessed via the car park under ExCeL.
- An additional entrance at ExCeL’s West Entrance will be introduced to ensure that all attendees are able to access the show quickly and efficiently, via the North Hall.
The DSEi team is working with ExCeL London to minimise the impact of the construction work during DSEi 2009 and ensure that the event will run smoothly with the very minimum of disruption.
